BUDDY ALLEN CARPET ONE
Quite fitting that on Friday, June 29th -- Patriotic Day -- Buddy Allen Carpet One in Nashville hosted their 3rd Annual Golf Tournament benefitting Building for America's Bravest which raised over $25,000!!! The store is now in the hands of the 3rd generation of the Allen family -- Zack, Jenna and Judson -- so they were able to seek community support from the many relationships their family has built over the years! Organization and fundraising efforts were led by Jenna, who shared on Facebook "Best. One. Yet. I love you all for helping, donating, sponsoring, playing." Buddy Allen Carpet One Floor & Home did not have one large corporate sponsor - they received many donations from individuals and many donations from small businesses - it took a lot of time but was well worth the effort. Zack, Jenna and Judson were honored to have retired NYFD John Carroll from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation there to share the story of T2T's journey with all the golfers and sponsors in attendance.
The annual golf tournament has improved in its fundraising year over year: Year 1 - $10,000, Year 2 $14,000 and 2018 $25,000...And they didn’t disappoint on fun – they kicked off the tournament with a “Shotgun Start” using a real, life-sized cannon so it started off with a real bang!
The real spark for Zack, Jenna and their mother Terri - the real motivation that kept them all going -- was participating in the Tunnel to Tower NYC 5K run - it was life changing for them. And they'll be back in NYC again this September for the race!
